let your creativity flow freely
stop getting in the way
What’s New?
For those of you who haven’t heard, I recently launched my paid subscriptions, which I’m so excited about!
Every other week, my paid subscribers will receive either a podcast Q&A or a writing video giving deeper insights into my book-writing process.
In my first podcast Q&A, I answered:
What writing tools do you use?
What is your writing process like?
What’s one piece of advice you wish you could give yourself two years ago? (very applicable to writers and creatives of all types)

Let Your Creativity Flow Freely
Creativity is meant to flow, wild and free.
It is not meant to be controlled or contained.
It is meant to be unleashed.
It needs room to breathe. Like flames, it needs oxygen to thrive. Otherwise, it will be stamped out.
Creativity is a fire burning inside of you, begging to be unleashed. Completely and utterly untamed.
It requires the artist to FEEL, not think. To let go and trust that it will all work out.
There’s an understandable desire to want to control our creations, to make sense of them.
But much of that desire stems from fear.
We fear that by not taming it, it will run too wild, burn too brightly. That it will become all tangled together until it turns into something that is no longer recognizable.
An unusable mess. A failure.
But maybe it’s not meant to be untangled. Maybe that imperfect mess is exactly how it’s supposed to be.
Maybe we just need to learn to respect that a little bit more. To respect our creativity instead of putting all these external pressures or expectations onto it.
Maybe it just needs to exist. Maybe it’s as simple as that.
Creations will come through us however they’re meant to.
As artists, we are a channel. A channel to turn what was once intangible, tangible.
We can’t let our minds get in the way of that.
We need to learn to let go. To release ourselves and our egos, for art is egoless. It’s simply beauty and joy, in its purest, most raw form.
We need to let creativity move through us, to get rid of the blocks that could hinder this magical flow.
The flow of creativity comes from somewhere that can’t even be explained. The unknown where nothing, yet everything, exists. Every creation, just waiting to be brought to life. To be formed by the artist and ushered into this plane of existence.
When you try to control your art and your creativity, you are blocking that flow. You are stopping the essence of the creation from coming out how it’s meant to.
You were chosen to be the artist for that specific creation. You were meant to shepherd it into this world. Your only job is to honor that creativity, to remove any blocks and let it flow through you. Wild and free.
So stop getting in your own way and unleash that creative fire.
Don’t let the world wait for your art any longer <3
What blocks tend to get in the way of your creativity flowing freely? Let me know in the comments below! (for me, it’s perfectionism)

A very powerful message!
This was so refreshing to hear (listening while working today). Thank you! I’ve just recently started working more consciously on my writing by making my way through a workbook and find that I start overthinking every word instead of just letting thoughts flow through the pen. I guess it is a way to get used to different approaches so that the flow can express itself differently in future, more elaborately and even more artfully, but at the moment it feels a bit of a grind. Thanks for reminding me of what really matters ✨
